Reds Demolish Pirates

After a 1:54 rain delay to postpone the first pitch to 8:59, the Pirates just did not play well.  Homer Bailey went the distance, allowing just one run on four hits, striking out five and walking one (surprisingly Pedro Alvarez).  Charlie Morton’s electric stuff wasn’t at the ballpark today, as he went four full innings, giving up four earned on six hits, walking one and striking out zero batters.  The remaining five pitchers all threw one inning — Jared Hughes allowed three earned runs on five hits in the seventh inning.  Chris Resop allowed a run on one hit and two walks.  The team’s batters weren’t much better.  They hit .129 (.156 OBA) and the only real highlight was Andrew McCutchen’s double.  Get ’em tomorrow, Bucs.
