After the Pirates dropped the first game on Friday, they won the second yesterday and are looking to at least split this four-game set by winning today’s game. The projected starters for today’s game are Kevin Correia for Pittsburgh and Tim Hudson for the Braves.
Hudson, a 13-year MLB veteran, will be making his first start of the 2012 season after having surgery on a herniated disc in his back. Last season, Hudson went 16-10, with a 3.22 ERA in 215 innings. Throughout his career, he is 5-5 with a 2.85 ERA in 11 games against the Pirates.
Kevin Correia is starting for the fourth time this season. In his previous three starts, Correia is 1-0 with an ERA of 2.00 after throwing in 18 innings. He was much better on the road than at home last season, going 10-3 with an ERA of 2.64 in 88.2 IP.
