The Pirates are hoping to avoid the sweep against the Cardinals today at 1:35 when Charlie Morton and his “electric stuff” take the mound against Kyle Lohse. The pitching appears to be a pretty even matchup, with 0.18 runs separating the ERA of Morton (3.62) and Lohse (3.45).

1. d’Arnaud, 5
2. Diaz, 7
3. Walker, 4
4. McCutchen, 8
5. Overhaul, 3
6. Jones, 9
7. Cedeno, 6
8. Fryer, 2
9. Morton, 1

1. Theriot, 6
2. Jay, 7
3. Pujols, 3
4. Berkman, 9
5. Rasmus, 8
6. Schumaker, 4
7. Laird, 2
8. Descalso, 5
9. Lohse, 1

Thoughts: Fryer replaces McKenry this afternoon, and Diaz gets the nod against a righty for some reason. Whatever, McCutchen goes 5-5 with the cycle in a Morton perfect game.

Ryan Doumit caught for the first time in his rehab assignment yesterday; Ross Ohlendorf is pitching for the Altoona Curve in his rehab stint today.
